What will you see on a Paris Night Tour?

The Eiffel Tower’s Illuminations

This 324-meter-high tower doesn’t need an introduction. Aside from being one of the most famous Parisian landmarks, the Eiffel Tower is also the main city symbol. Visible from almost every angle in Paris, the tower has a privileged location on the Champs-de-Mars avenue on a wide meander right next to the River Seine. Even though the Eiffel Tower is impressive enough by day, it is even more magical after sunset when hundreds of golden lights illuminate its giant metal structure crowned by a giant beacon.

While you cruise across the Seine river, don’t miss the unique opportunity to see the incredible tower’s lights when they sparkle (for 5 minutes every hour). This incredible lighting system was designed by lighting engineer Pierre Bideau.

Musee d’Orsay

Facing the Louvre Museum on the other side of the river, Musee d’Orsay is another great sight you will be able to see during your night river cruise. Originally built as a rail station in 1900, this perfectly symmetrical building is one of the main Parisian landmarks located between the Eiffel Tower and l’Ile de la Cité. Keep an eye out for the two splendid clocks on the facade of the museum as you admire its breathtaking view from the river.

Grand Palais and Petit Palais

While you enjoy the view of numerous Parisian landmarks from the river, don’t miss the view of the Grand Palais and its smaller sister, the Petit Palais, which were built in 1900 for the Exposition Universelle. More than a century later, their imposing glass roofs and impressive facades remain among Paris’ most popular tourist attractions.

Paris Night Tour – Valuable tips

Whether you are searching for a unique experience, a romantic way to spend your night, or you simply want to discover Paris from another angle, you certainly won’t regret booking a River Seine night cruise while in the French capital. Here are our helpful tips everyone should know before going on a Seine River night tour. Read them all and prepare yourself for a visit in the best way!

Book your Paris Night Tour in advance!

As you suppose, going on a Seine river cruise is one of the most popular things to do while in Paris, especially at night. For that reason, we highly recommend booking this night tour in advance. That way, you will secure your spot and have a completely carefree cruise along the Seine River.

Wear the weather-appropriate clothing

In the evenings, the temperatures tend to drop, so dress up warmly when going on a Paris Night Tour. A light jacket or layered clothing should be good enough.

Use an audio guide!

Don’t forget to download an audio guide on your mobile phone as you board the boat. It will take you only a few seconds, and you will be able to get a better insight into the history of the sites you pass by during the river cruise.

Why should you go on a Paris Night Tour?

It’s impossible to imagine visiting Paris without climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower, taking a stroll along the Champs-Elysées and Arc de Triomphe, or discovering the art masterpieces at the Louvre Museum. Equally, you shouldn’t leave Paris without exploring it at night. If Paris is so beautiful by day, imagine how spectacular it looks at night!
