Absolutely a must when in Paris!
I loved visiting Versailles! It was really interesting to see where history took place and how richly decorated the palace is, especially the Hall of Mirrors and the King's and Queen's rooms. I was also surprised by Marie Antoinette's estate with the mock village they built and everything. My recommendation is to wear comfortable shoes because the palace is absolutely huge! And don't even think about skipping the gardens!
Everything in one ticket!
I loved my visit and just discovering everything on my own for hours. There's a lot to see, so give yourself enough time. It was great that the ticket included the gardens and the Trianon, too. I saw photos of the gardens before, but it was even better to walk around in person and see all the fountains and statues.

ENTER VERSAILLES & WALK IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF FRENCH ROYALTY
Your Versailles Palace Ticket comes with all-day access, so you can explore the home of French royalty without rushing! The first thing you will notice is that Versailles is huge. There are 2,300 rooms! Probably the most famous room is the Hall of Mirrors, with mirrors on one side and windows on the other. It is lavishly decorated with paintings and chandeliers and was used for balls, so it will give you a taste of the luxurious life that the royals lived before the French Revolution of 1789. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and used to be King Louis XIII's hunting lodge. His son, King Louis XIV, transformed the palace in the 17th century. The royals' dreams were so big that the village of Versailles was destroyed because King Louis XIV wanted to build a new town in its place. Louis XIV died before he saw Versailles completed.
SEE THE GARDENS OF VERSAILLES
From the Hall of Mirrors, you can look out at the Grande Perspective–the Gardens of Versailles stretch far away, with perfect lawns and hedges, fountains, and a canal. The gardens are vast and it actually took 40 years to complete them! The plants in the gardens needed to be replanted about once every century. There was a storm in 1999, after which the gardens were replanted, making them look similar to how they did in the time of Louis XIV. You can also see the Orangery, which isn’t just the name of a building but refers to a greenhouse specially designed to shelter citrus trees during colder months, a beautiful and functional part of the gardens. There is another famous Orangery in Paris: the Musée de l’Orangerie, which is renowned for its stunning collection of Monet’s Water Lilies. If you want to experience these masterpieces, consider booking your Orangerie Museum ticket in advance.
SEE MARIE ANTOINETTE ESTATE
The Trianon Estate was built to give the royals some privacy away from the court. There, you can see the Grand and the Petit Trianon. Marie Antoinette liked to spend time at the Petit Trianon, where she had the Queen's Hamlet built, with rustic cottages and gardens. It also included a windmill and a dairy. The Petit Trianon was actually a gift to Marie Antoinette from Louis XVI. The Grand Trianon is where Louis XIV spent time with Madame de Maintenon.
ENJOY THE MUSICAL GARDENS OR MUSICAL FOUNTAINS SHOW
Walk through the gardens and groves at the Versailles estate and enjoy the Musical Gardens and the Musical Fountains Show! As part of the Musical Fountains Show, Baroque music will accompany your walk around the gardens, and the many water features spout water to the rhythm. The Musical Gardens offer you a chance to walk around the groves of Versailles accompanied by music. They both offer a magical experience at the Gardens of Versailles!
